Usually, he goes to sleep on his own. During naps, he wakes after 45 minutes, talks a little, and then goes back to sleep for another 45 minutes.
In this new sitting-up-on-my-own world, it takes 15 minutes and an extra visit to get him to sleep. Then after 45min of napping, he wakes up, pops up, and talks himself into a tizzy - partially because he's having too much fun sitting up, partially because he's not very good at lying back down again. Will we ever enjoy a 90min nap again?
Suggestions are welcome.
Maybe he is also in the process of changing his nap schedule a little so he can have a longer nap at another time in the day?? My only suggestion is to put up more curtains and darken the room at lot so that he can't see a lot during naptime to play. He'll settle down soon when sitting up is "old hat"! Very cute picture!!
ReplyDeleteIt's not a bad problem to have really - you know, he's playing and happy before bed, not screaming! :)
I was going to mention to watch when he starts pulling up. Only 3 days after my mom saw Samuel sort of pulling up, we hadn't lowered the mattress and Samuel actually pulled up in the crib and reached for something tipped out of the crib luckily being stopped from any sort of real fall by his dresser. It was scary as I didn't realize he'd "get it" that fast.
