The Other Earth

Driving home in the van one evening...

Noah: Why is the moon bigger?

Mommy: Every month it looks bigger and then smaller. This is the time of month it looks bigger.

Noah: No, I think it's a different moon. It's a planet. It's Earth. It's where we live.

Mommy: But we're driving on Earth right now.

Noah: No, Earth is a ball. It's flying. [Clearly we're not flying on a ball right now, Mommy.]

Mommy: Earth is so huge that we're just driving on one little dot on the big huge ball.

(a long, thought-filled pause)

Noah: There's two earths. That's the other earth.
