Squirrel

We have a squirrel in our house. Creamer in my purse, toothpaste in the bathtub, gloves under my bed, a rubber duck in my stockpot...

If it's missing, I can usually guess who took it, though I have NO IDEA where it wound up (and neither does he).

On the upside, my day is a series of surprises. I just found my mint tea while I was looking for a movie. Score.

  1. When the 5yo was about that age, we once lost the TV remote. I looked high and low for it to no avail. Then, I remembered that the day before, I'd asked him to put it in the den for me.

I asked him, hey, do you remember that? Where did you put it? He marched straight through the den, then the kitchen, and into the laundry room. And pointed to the laundry basket. I said, no, remember, I said put it in the den. And again, he pointed at the laundry basket.

Of course, that's exactly where the remote was. So we had to do a little re-naming work then. ;)

Fortunately for me, the 5yo continues to know where ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING is. Doesn't matter whose stuff it is or how random a place they left it in. He knows where it is.

I hope your squirrel will soon develop THAT habit!! :)
