The Best Rainy Day

 

We haven't had a truly rain-all-day rainy day in months, so it took us all off guard when we woke to a drizzle that just kept going. Fortunately, we have some die-hard neighbors who--like us--were up for a wet day of parades, potlucks, and slip-and-slides in raincoats, hats, umbrellas, and swimsuits (but no sunscreen - hurray!). We took breaks at home with hot chocolate and hot baths, then went back out for more. Being a cold-or-wet weather gal myself, it may be one of my favorite Fourths yet.
