Good Friends

I just realized that I probably have not written enough about my friends. Maybe it's 'cause you read this blog. Maybe it's because I take you for granted. Either way, never fear, I won't name you individually.

Rather, let me just say that I feel SOOOO incredibly blessed to have a group of friends who I love, admire, respect, and get to spend time with - at Monday playgroup, Tues Bible study, Sunday school, book club, the park, the pool, small group, playdates, or the occasional girls' night out. You're smart, wise, unselfish, honest, and have hearts for God. Perhaps just as important, you're not catty or cliquish or putting on a show. You inspire and encourage me almost every day, and it means the world to me.

Josh is out-of-town tonight, and with one close friend in labor 3 weeks early this morning, I couldn't help wondering what would happen if my water broke. I'd be fanatical about getting Josh back to Nashville of course, but not for lack of help on this end. I'm so lucky to have a list of friends I know I could call in the middle of the night.

Better yet, I'm thrilled to see Noah spending time with you and your kids every week. It's exciting to think that he will grow up with such a solid base of friendships and support. I'm not arranging his marriage yet (besides I'd have some competition for the few girls), but I am celebrating that God is giving him early interactions with kids growing up under such great examples.

Our pastor recently said that our church is about "building the Kingdom of God." Together, I feel like we're doing that. Not perfectly. Not always. But humanly and with our lives.

Thank you so much for being a part of our lives.
