Our Little Irishman

With surnames like Denny and Galloway in their heritage, our kids definitely have some Irish blood. Which is why it wasn't too startling when Aaron came out with his head on fire. ;)

Since then, we've been watching our sweet little leprechaun...

Grow - 85th percentile in height
Giggle - especially at peekabo, tickling, and his brother
Gobble - he's an oatmeal man, though he loves all things red/orange, of course
Gabble - "ba-ba-ba, da-da-da, ra-ra-ra" (repeat)
Grab - anything not nailed down
Gum - whatever he grabbed, though spoons are a favorite
Grin - at eye contact; he LOVES faces
Gurgle - what could be better than a baby blowing raspberries?
Glide - his first--but not favorite--swing ride

This is such an easy age as he's interacting and discovering the world from a fixed point. I am enjoying that he's happy to sit on a lap and gum on a toy, or watch Noah play while he rocks in the bouncy seat. Since Noah took his time getting to each mobility milestone, I assumed our next would be early. Thankfully, I was wrong. We're just a laid-back bunch around here. Why sit when you can lie down?

Speaking of lying down, Aaron has been sleeping 11 hours (7pm-6am) each night for over a month. Hallelujah! Add in two naps a day, and we've got a happy boy and a happy mom who can better appreciate her time with him.

Right now, my favorite times with him occur when he wakes up. When I walk into the nursery, he's usually chewing on his Pooh-bear blanket (if he's not screaming). Then he sees me and his whole face lights up. I carry my little bundle of baby (in his fuzzy sleepsack) over to the comfy blue rocker where he nurses. Then we'll sit and chat or read books if time allows. I am so thankful for that protected time to cuddle, read, and just rub noses with my littlest sweetheart.

  1. The alliteration was just for fun. I got started with giggle and gobble and then got carried away with my thesarus. ;)
