God works in mysterious ways, and I probably don't understand a tiny fraction of what He's doing. I'm confident he's been working through our church's monthly young mom's group, Moms & More, for years. But this week, it felt like He decided to be really obvious about it - twice.
1. Last month, a dear friend of mine won the big kahuna door prize: a free date night (cash + childcare!). But then she felt God leading her to give it to another mom in greater need, so she did. Guess who won the same door prize AGAIN this month? Yeah, I know. So obvious.
2. This month, our MC introduced the speaker as a mother of boys who worked in Christian publishing but now stays home with them, lives in Franklin, and does a little freelance writing and editing. I started getting scared that maybe she was expecting me to get up! Instead, we heard from a speaker about 5 years further down the road I'm on. I meant to introduce myself afterward but got distracted, so Friday morning at 9:38am I sent our MC an email request for the speaker's contact info. At 9:45am our family went to the Resurrection Trail at another local church and stood in line with about 500 other young families. Guess who was directly in line behind us? The speaker from the day before. This time, I think God was just showing off.
But that's fine by me. I love it when God's will seems clear and He makes it happen in ways that feel recognizable to my finite little mind.
