A Surprise Holiday

I had pretty low expectations for our holiday weekend. Josh had to work, which usually means he's gone 7am-9pm Sat/Sun. I prepared myself for a loooong weekend - and not in the positive sense.

Instead, it was a really fun, full three-day weekend! Josh took off Friday so we could run errands, eat out, and meet our new pediatrician (we chose our old pediatrician--a female in Brentwood--before we had 2 boys and moved to Franklin).

Saturday, Noah and I watched our neighborhood bike parade, led by a friendly but awe-inspiring firetruck. Then we went to the pool with our good friends, took a nap, and Daddy came home (at 5pm!) to join us for dinner at my brother's. Just as we arrived home from dinner, the Franklin fireworks began so we sat and watched them from our front yard.

Sunday, Noah and I were just leaving church when Daddy showed up! So we went out for lunch to celebrate, napped, and then had a date-night-in with "Meet the Fockers" and ravioli.

Between our community's many events (neighborhood & city), our friends and extended family, and the 3 of us, I should have known better than to think I'd be sitting twiddling my thumbs for 48 hours. But it's still always nice to be surprised.
